Juan + Cecilya

Some sessions just feel effortless, and this one was exactly that. Cecilya and Juan made their engagement photos look so easy. The way they moved together, laughed, and just were with each other—it was the kind of connection that doesn’t need direction. You can tell they’re deeply in love and totally at peace just being together.

They originally met at work and later moved to Idaho for new opportunities. Soon, they’ll be heading to California to say “I do” surrounded by loved ones—but before that, we had the joy of capturing this special season of their lives here in Boise.

What made this session even sweeter? It didn’t stop at photos. What started as a classic engagement session turned into dinner, drinks, and non-stop laughs. We wrapped up the shoot and headed to 10 Barrel (their recommendation—solid choice!). My fiancé, who also assists me during sessions, and I absolutely loved the food and their company.

Somehow by the end of the night, our finances had convinced themselves they’re cousins (???), and Cecilya and Juan felt like old friends we’d known for years. It’s wild how two people you’ve never met can feel so familiar by the time dessert hits the table.

This was more than just a session—it was a reminder of why I love what I do. Capturing people as they are, telling a little bit of their story, and walking away feeling like we gained new friends in the process.
