Renee and Jonathan’s wedding day was nothing short of magical — a perfect blend of romance, fun, and intentional details that truly reflected who they are as a couple.
Held at Zoo Boise, their celebration was brought to life by a dream team of vendors who executed their vision flawlessly. With planning by Lynsey Rooney Events, tunes by DJ Rydrdie, and an unforgettable ceremony beside the giraffe exhibit (Renee’s favorite animal!), every moment felt meaningful and joy-filled.
The day began with hair and makeup by @beautybymelanani, who made sure Renee looked radiant in her custom lilac gown — a whimsical, romantic design created locally by @tulips.tuelle. It couldn’t have suited the setting better.
Since Renee and Jonathan chose to do their first look at Lucky Peak a week before the wedding, we had plenty of time before the ceremony to explore the zoo and take relaxed couple portraits — a decision that helped ease their nerves and gave them the gift of presence on their big day.
As the ceremony concluded, Renee and Jonathan walked back down the aisle as a married couple while their nieces and nephews joyfully blew bubbles — a sweet and playful celebration that had everyone smiling.
Their loved ones showed up from all over — Jonathan’s family traveled in from California, Houston, and Oklahoma, while the couple themselves made the trip from Idaho Falls. Every moment was surrounded by love, intention, and the people who matter most.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a zoo hour, wandering the exhibits and soaking in the sunshine while we captured family portraits and got the couple ready for their grand entrance. The reception space, designed by Stacey’s Big Day Decor, brought their soft palette of sage green, lilac, and gold to life beautifully.
Instead of a traditional cake, guests were treated to a tiered macaron display, along with Dip’n Dots and carousel rides — the perfect playful nods to summer fun.
As a more reserved couple, Renee and Jonathan opted for a relaxed, guest-focused evening without too many formalities. Their reception included just what they wanted: laughter, dancing, good music, and sweet moments shared with the people they love most.
Before the night ended, we snuck away for a few nighttime portraits, giving them a quiet pause to reflect and soak everything in.
And one of the most touching parts? Renee’s kind words afterward:
“Jenesis was a great choice for my wedding. She helped me and my fiancé feel comfortable in front of the camera, so we got some great shots of the two of us. She was patient with us through the whole process. I also appreciated that she is bilingual, so she was extra helpful when wrangling up our Spanish-speaking family members. We love looking at our pictures and remembering our special day.”
