Intimate Boise Capitol Wedding & Foothills Portraits

There’s something so special about photographing someone you’ve known for years; it adds another layer of meaning to every image. I first met Jessenia back when I was attending community college, so when she reached out about documenting her intimate wedding, I was beyond honored.

Their day unfolded beautifully at the Boise Capitol, surrounded by their closest loved ones. The ceremony took place inside the Capitol, intentionally simple, heartfelt, and full of emotion. Every moment felt meaningful: their vows echoed through the marble halls, surrounded by quiet tears, laughter, and genuine joy.

After the ceremony, we captured family portraits around the Capitol, followed by couple portraits inside the stunning architecture. The light, the marble, and their connection made everything feel timeless and editorial, a perfect reflection of their love.

One of my favorite parts of the day came right after: their sweet Yorkie, Enzo, joined us for post-ceremony photos. Pets aren’t allowed inside the Capitol, but he stole the show the second he arrived, wearing the cutest little “I Do Too” bow tie collar. Seeing Jessenia and Aurelio share that joy with both their families and Enzo was such a heartwarming moment.

We ended the day in the Boise foothills near Lucky Peak for their final portraits. The golden light and calm atmosphere were the perfect backdrop to close their celebration. Of course, no wedding day is without a little adventure at one point. Enzo managed to lock them out of their car! But they laughed it off, waited for help, and decided to continue with portraits. I’m so glad they did, because those foothill photos turned out to be some of my favorites from the entire day.

It was an unforgettable celebration full of love, laughter, a few surprises, and a lot of heart. And to make it even more meaningful, my fiancé had the honor of officiating their ceremony, making it an even deeper connection to capture their story.

Jessenia and Aurelio’s intimate wedding was a reminder that love stories don’t need to be extravagant to be extraordinary. It’s about the people, the laughter, and the meaning behind every little moment.
